How to Create the Pacific Bun

Serena Norr | 19 June 2016

Easy, breezy styles have never been so easy.

We’ve been sharing some of our favorite looks from Mom 2.0, courtesy of Dove Hair. Another look that has been on our radar is the pacific bun. As a bun hairstyles, the pacific bun involves creating a braid and twisting into an easy/breezy California-inspired updo for summer. While we can definitely see this look at the beach, we also love it is elegant enough to work for evening cocktails, a work event or just a chill date night. Read on to check out how to create this look for yourself this summer.

Step 1: Smooth out your hair

Apply 1-2 drops of Dove Regenerative Nourishment Serum-in-Oil for maximum smoothness.

Step 2: Create a ponytail

Gather hair into a high, tight ponytail right on top of the crown of the head and secure with an elastic.

Step 3: Braid the ponytail

Next, take a small amount of Dove Youthful Vitality Silk Crème in your hands, rub them together, and then braid the ponytail. By adding the cream to your hands before braiding, you coat the braid with the product keeping it nice and polished.

Step 4: Secure your bun

Secure the braid with another elastic, then wrap the braid around the base of the ponytail, tucking the end underneath. Secure with bobby pins.

Step 5: Lock your style in place

Spray Dove Style + Care Extra Hold Hairspray on a reusable mascara wand and use it to hold down flyaway hairs, especially around the ears and at the nape of the neck.

There you have it – an easy look for summer that will keep you looking cool as your hair is out of your face.
