Gorgeous and Inspiring Hairstyles to Try

A gorgeous way to update your hair is with a chic half-up style. Photo credit: Verity Jane Smith

1. Half-Up Hairstyle

We love the elegant yet easy aspect of the half-up hairstyle. After you wash, condition and brush your hair, hold both sections of your hair together until they meet in the middle. Create a low top knot or simple pony and you’re good to go. If you have bangs, this style looks darling with a few wispy pieces around the sides of your face.

2. Glitter Roots

We’ll let you in a little secret: glitter roots are easy! This party hairstyle essentially just involves mixing gel like the TRESemmé Tres Two Mega Firm Control Gel  and glitter (we suggest a colorful blend) into a bowl where you apply this new concoction to your roots. Go for a subtle application or a thick layer of glitter for your fun night out.

3. Loose Waves

We love the romantic vibe of loose waves. This look can be achieved with the help of a curling iron as you create bouncy curls throughout your hair. Be sure to use some heat protectant on your hair like some of the Nexxus New York Salon Care Promend Heat Protecting Spray before you start. If you find that your curls are too big, you can gently brush some of the curl out with a brush. Then use some hairspray to lock this style in place all night long.

4. Braided Updo

While you can beat the heat for your night out, the humidity can still be pretty fierce! Opt for a updo that takes your hair off your neck as you look chic and on point. Pair this look with a stylish braid to look incredibly chic for your night out.

5. Natural Afro

Another inspiring hairstyle to try if you have natural hair is to leave your afro as is. You may find that you need some serum like the Dove Quench Absolute Supreme Creme Serum that can help you tame frizz and make your hair super soft and manageable.

6. Crimped Ponytail

Remember the ’80s? Well, they are alive and well in so many inspiring hairstyles that we’ve seen of late. We love how this look combines an upgraded take on this vintage hairstyle that’s mixed with a high ponytail.

7. Twisted Updo

How fun is this hairstyle!? We love how it combines the half-updo with a seriously cool update with these twisted coils. Create this look by sectioning your hair into a standard half-up style. Then create three subsections where you start from the top of your hair, creating twists all the way down to your ends that you hold together with some bobby pins. 8. Space Buns

All hail the space bun – we adore you and love how this look has been making a resurgence on everywhere from the office to the gym. Gorgeous on any hair type, you can create this look by starting out with two high and even pigtails. Then, starting at the base of your ponytail wrap your hair around as if you’re making a hair bun. Hold this style together with some bobby pins and you’re golden.
