3 Top Knots from NYFW We Love! (and How to Get Them!)

Alyssa François | 12 September 2016

Three’s a trend!

Sifting through past street style round-ups and you’ll quickly learn in order to get noticed, you’ll have to wear an over-the-top outfit (bright colors, fun textures and prints) and anything but simple top knots from NYFW (think: rainbow hair and huge curls) as your choice of snap-friendly hairstyle. This season, the more is more approach died down just a bit and the street style set is opting for more refined and relaxed looks. Don’t believe us? Check out our top three top knots that were taken around NYC for New York Fashion Week.

1. The Chic Knot

What drew us to this stylish look? The touch of Parisian style. To echo this neat top knot style at home, prep your hair with some of the Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil for added shine. Then, use a boar bristle brush to smoothen your hair as you use your hands to gather it into a high and sleek ponytail. Loop the hair ends through your hair elastic half way, then wrap the ends around the base of your bun and secure with some hairpins.

2. The Super High Undone Bun

If you’re obsessed with the undone hair trend, this look is for you. If you have long hair, bend forward and gather hair into a super high ponytail. Loop the ends through your hair elastic twice (if needed), then pull out wisps of hair to create the undone effect. No hair pins needed!

3. The Textured Mid Top Knot

By now we know for Spring/Summer 2017, when it comes to hair, texture is key and this street style star is already ahead of the game. This look is best done on second day hair, but it can be done on first day as well. To create some textures spritz some sea salt spray, then finger comb. Using no styling tools but your hands, smooth hair into a mid-crown ponytail then wrap into a bun. To keep your texture tamed (and avoid any extra frizz) finish the look off with TRESemmé Climate Protection Finishing Spray.
