When we’re in the mood to switch up our style to something more flirty and fun, we immediately think either some kind of braid or a romantic kind of ponytail. Making the decision of which to go with isn’t hard when you can just combine them! The braided low ponytail is the perfect style to add texture, fun and a whole lot of style to your look.

Although this hairstyle may start out as a little complex (knowing how to French braid is key), once you master it you will be able to get it done in no time at all. Follow along with our tutorial and learn how to create a beautiful braided low ponytail.

Braided Low Ponytail

French braid.

Time to start your low braided ponytail. Create a French braid down the far side of your head (left or right is up to you!) Stop at about two-thirds down.

Secure and wrap.

Secure the rest of your hair by making a low ponytail. Spray your style with Suave Professionals Luxe Style Infusion Anti-Humidity Hairspray. Take a small strand of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic.

Pin.

Pin the strand of hair around your elastic to hide it and give it a more polished look.

Protect.

Before curling your low braided ponytail, protect your strands with a few sprays of TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray.

Curl.

Use a curling iron to create loose curls in your ponytail. You don’t need to curl every piece, just enough to create a voluminous texture! Gently fingercomb through your curls for a more relaxed braided low ponytail finish.

Done!

Your low braided ponytail style is complete! Set it with some hairspray as needed for a more controlled finish.
