Start clean.
To begin creating your braided prom updo, wash hair with Suave Lemongrass & Ginger Strengthening Shampoo and Suave Strengthening Conditioner. This system gently cleanses hair and helps tames frizz.
Part hair.
Use a rattail comb to create a zig-zag part in your hair then clip the sections to separate.
Apply leave-in and detangle.
Apply a few drops of the Suave Professionals Honey Infusion 10-in-1 Leave-In Conditioner onto your hair, then detangle with a brush. There are so many things to love about this leave-in, especially the fact that it protects hair against the damaging effects of using heat styling tools.
Braid your hair.
Now it’s time to start your braided prom updo! Braid each section French braid style but leave your tendrils out.
Curl your tendrils.
Comb through your tendrils to detangle before curling. Please note: Your hair needs to be completely dry before applying your hair wand. If your hair is damp, wait a few minutes to air-dry or use a blowdryer to dry. Once your hair is dry, carefully wrap your hair around the wand and hold in place for a few seconds. Repeat the same on the other side.
Tame your edges.
Ladies, keeping your edges tamed can change the look of your hairstyle. If you want a glamorous and neat braided prom updo, take out your toothbrush and smooth those fine hairs down.
Finish with some hairspray.
Use some hairspray, like Nexxus Maxximum Finishing Hairspray, to seal your look and lock in your side tendril curls.
