Lacy Redway Creates a Structured Icy Knot for the LaQuan Smith NYFW FW ‘22 Show

Icy, structured, and super-wearable.

Sleek, icy, and near-perfect, the icy top knot spotted at the LaQuan Smith NYFW FW ’22 Show is the most wearable look of the season. Stylists employed TRESemmé’s 2022 product releases to create a slicked-back structured high bun. The high-shine and stronghold products play an essential role in creating the icy effect seen on the runway.

Lacy Redway led a team of stylists backstage in creating this structured style.

I wanted the hair to compliment the glamour that we know and love from LaQuan Smith. We kept it bold, sleek, and frozen in place, without a single strand out of place.

Begin with TRESemmé One Step Smooth and work it through the hair so there is moisture from roots to ends before creating the style. Use your fingers to comb the product through until it’s fully absorbed.

Step 2: Smooth out any texture.

Apply TRESemmé TRES TWO Mega Control Gel throughout before brushing hair back. Use a boar bristle brush to smooth out any texture. Once the hair is completely smooth, secure with a hair tie and split the ponytail in half.

Continue smoothing until the style is perfect.

Step 3: Create the knot.

Wrap the two parts into themselves, creating a knot. Secure the knot with hairpins and freeze the style in place with a mist of TRESemmé TRES TWO Freeze Hold Hair Spray.

Step 4: Add some icy shine.

Complete the look with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum to create the icy effect. Run the serum across the base of the style and apply to the bun, as well.
