fall waves: barely-there effect

How to Wear Fall Waves This Season

Long live wavy hair!

One thing that we love the most about transitional hairstyles is that they can be tweaked to fit the new season. Our current favorite transitional hairstyle of the moment is waves, which we will now call “fall waves” for season’s sake. Your beach waves just got a new name for the fall!

Instead of creating a fresh-out-of-the-ocean, or in some of our cases, fresh-out-the shower hairstyles, we’re now using different tactics to create the look. A lot of us get super lazy with our hairstyles during the fall season,  so these hacks can definitely make your life much easier. Read on for three different ways to wear and create fall waves:

1. The Crinkle Effect

This season, we’re seeing a lot of crinkled hairstyles. To recreate this effect, try braiding the ends of your hair with the help of a gel for hold. Apply a gel like TRESemme Make Waves Shaping Gel to your ends, then braid. Allow your hair to dry before loosening. Apply a few drops of TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum to your hair to add shine.

2. Sophisticated Fall Waves

This iteration of the fall wave style has a much simpler and neater look. It’s perfect for work or a formal event. Start with smooth hair. Wash hair using TRESemmé Smooth and Silky Shampoo and Conditioner to give your hair a dose of moisture and polish. Use our hair wave tutorial to complete the look.

3. The Barely-There Wave

The point of this hairstyle is to look as if your hair created this natural wave effect after styling. This may already naturally happen for some, but if this doesn’t occur for you, you can totally hack it. Use your curling iron to create a very slight bend to medium sections of hair and twist them with your hands while your hair cools. Set your hair with TRESemmé TRES Two Freeze Hold Hairspray to set your wave in place and done!
