Start fresh.
Unless you’re using this hair puff style to save a bad hair day, it’s best to start off with clean hair. To begin, wash your hair with Suave Professionals Coconut Oil Infusion Shampoo and Suave Professionals Coconut Oil Infusion Conditioner. This system provides a weightless moisture, which is ideal for your hair on those hot and sticky days.
Apply your styler.
For this step, you’ll want to use a styler that adds shine, a supple feeling, and definition to your curls. Our current favorite at the moment is the Dove Absolute Curls Supreme Creme Serum. Ladies, this serum smells just as good as it performs. Pump one or two pumps of the serum into your hands, emulsify between your palms and work it throughout your curls.
Section off your fringe.
If you’re looking to create a puff hairstyle with some fringe action, separate your bang area with a clip.
Gather your hair into high ponytail.
With your bangs pinned, gather the back section of hair into a super high ponytail as if you were creating the pineapple hairstyle.
Separate and fluff bangs.
After creating your ponytail, release your bangs. Use your fingers to detangle, fluff and style until you get the look you want.
Add hair pins if needed.
With this hair puff style, you can either leave it out and wild or you can tuck a few pieces here and there. If you prefer the latter, go ahead and add a few pins to contain your hairstyle as you see fit. Be sure to add hair pins to your bang area to help you alter the length.
Set your style.
To finish your look, you can apply a hairspray, like TRESemmé TRES Two Freeze Hold Hairspray, to fully lock your look in place or leave it as is. What we love about this hairspray option is that it doesn’t give your hair that sticky feeling once applied. So, if you plan on wearing this exact style throughout the week, we suggest using a hairspray.
