How to Crown Braid: A Quick and Easy Tutorial
Start with dry shampoo.
Start off by refreshing your hair with dry shampoo. We love Bed Head by TIGI Oh Bee Hive! Dry Shampoo because it adds mega volume while absorbing excess oil. Spray this dry shampoo from a distance of 10 inches from your head and use your fingers to massage the product into your strands.
Start a dutch braid.
Take three strands at the nape of your neck and begin a dutch braid by crossing the strands under instead of over each other.
Keep braiding.
Work your way around your head and keep braiding. Make sure to keep adding strands as you go! Make sure to keep your braid nice and tight as you continue braiding around your entire head.
Secure the end.
Finish off by creating a regular three-strand braid and secure the end with a hair tie. We recommend using a thin clear hair tie so that it isn’t visible in the final style.
Wrap and pin.
Wrap the tail of your braid around the back of your head and use a pin to secure the end of the braid in place.
Mist with hairspray.
Finish off with a light mist of hair spray to secure your style! We love Dove Style + Care Compressed Flexible Hold Hairspray for non-crunchy hold.
