Tutorial: The Pretzel Bun Hairstyle
Start with clean, freshly washed hair.
Prep your hair for an updo with a wash and care system designed to strengthen your strands. We like the healthy look and feel (and luxurious shine!) we get from the Nexxus New York Salon Care Therappe Shampoo and Nexxus New York Salon Care Humectress Conditioner.

Apply some serum.
After towel-drying, apply a dime-sized amount of a lightweight serum to lengths and ends for shine and manageability.

Comb through evenly.
Distribute the product evenly throughout hair, making sure to detangle as you go.

Straighten with a flat iron.
If desired, carefully straighten hair with a flat iron to remove any kinks as you prep for a shiny bun.

Create a side pony.
Gather hair into a low ponytail off to one side. Secure with a hair-colored elastic and split the ponytail into two.

Twist sections together.
Next, twist both sections into one giant rope, being careful not to unravel each section.

Create your bun.
Coil your rope twist around its own base to form a sexy low chignon. Secure with some bobby pins.

Finish with hairspray.
Spritz on a light, even coating of hairspray, such as the TRESemmé TRES Two Ultra-Fine Mist Hairspray for control and hold.
