World Oceans Day: Care for Our Planet While Caring for Your Hair

June 8 is World Oceans Day! This day was born with the intention of bringing awareness of our impact on oceans through extreme pollution and bring about a positive change. It’s so important that we work to protect and restore this beautiful resource on our planet. We at All Things Hair are excited to celebrate this day by supporting sustainable haircare brand, Love Beauty and Planet. Celebrating World Oceans Day
Every year, up to 26 billion pounds of plastic ends up in our oceans. By 2050, there could be more plastic than fish inhabiting the ocean! This is an alarming statistic, and it needs to be changed. There are plenty of ways you can help lower your plastic waste to prevent it from ending up in the ocean. Even making small changes in the packaging you purchase can make a huge difference.
Love Beauty and Planet‘s Clean Oceans Edition Line
Love Beauty and Planet launched its Clean Oceans line last July 2019, which is a line that has all its packaging made from recycled ocean-bound plastic, or plastic waste along coastlines, beaches and waterways that would likely end up in the oceans. Not to forget that every main ingredient is natural and all of the scents are ethically sourced. What could be better?
Let’s break down the different products in this line:
Marine Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner
This shampoo and conditioner duo is perfect for gals with dry hair. Formulated with blue-green algae and finished with a eucalyptus scent, it’s highly moisturizing and leaves your hair feeling renewed.
Deep Detox Shampoo and Conditioner
If your strands are in need of a detox, this is the duo for you. This duo infused with sea salt and a bergamot scent to balance and restore hair health.
Working with The Surfrider Foundation
On top of releasing this line, Love Beauty and Planet has also partnered with The Surfrider Foundation to organize 26 beachfront clean-ups on World Ocean’s Day. This effort is 5,000 people strong and will work to remove pollution from our beaches across the US. They also donated $250,000 to the foundation to continue protecting our oceans beyond World Ocean’s Day.
