Carolina Herrera NYFW F/W 19 Features Fresh Waves and Sensual Texture
This style is all about a youthful, easy vibe.
Odile Gilbert is the calm presence in the storm of backstage preparation for Carolina Herrera F/W ’19. Gilbert makes an adjustment to a lock of hair here, adjusts a stylist’s grip on a curling iron there, all while ensuring that the styles remain fresh and sensual. “We are accentuating the quality of the hair that they have and making it better,” she says. “We are keeping the texture but we really want all the hair to be fresh with a middle part. It’s very sensual… we want something fresh and super natural. Almost like teenagers.” Fresh waves are the name of the game this morning, and they are the perfect backdrop to Herrera’s bold collection. Gilbert walks us through how to recreate these fresh waves using some of her favorite TRESemmé products:
Fresh Waves and Sensual Texture
Step 1: Wash your hair.
Start by washing hair with TRESemmé Botanique Curl Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s important to start this look from clean, fresh hair as it’s all about accentuating your individual style.
Step 2: Towel dry.
Gently towel-dry your hair.
Step 3: Prep your hair.
Spritz TRESemmé Between Washes Style Refresh All-in-1 Spray throughout hair for a boost of hydration and to prime your hair before styling. Then turn your head upside down and rough dry with a blow dryer to bring out your natural texture.
Step 4: Comb your product through.
Comb hair through with a wide tooth comb and spritz generously with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protect Spray to protect tresses from heat styling.
Step 5: Create natural waves.
Using a flat iron, lightly move down the lengths of the hair in a zig-zag motion to create natural waves, adding body and movement to your style.
Step 6: Add texture.
To add texture and volume, spray TRESemmé Between Washes Volumizing Dry Shampoo through your roots, and then finish by misting with TRESemmé Compressed Micro-Mist Hairspray in Level 1: Texture.
