Read on to learn how to create a beautiful, fun frohawk at home and enjoy the showstopper of your dreams!
Start by applying a leave-in conditioner.
To soften and moisturize your curls, start by evenly coating your mid-ends with a leave-in conditioner, like SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-in Conditioner. This will help to moisturize and prep your hair, as well as adding some texture to your final frohawk look.

Section your hair.
First of all, divide your hair into sections using your fingers. For an extra-defined and clean part, use a rat tail comb. Using the pointed end, section the hair precisely, moving strands either side of the parting until you have a clean line. Then, using the comb end, comb away from the part in both directions to get a smooth, tangle-free divide. It’s very important to divide your hair to the point all sections are clearly defined – that way, you’ll get a neater pineapple frohawk with added detail all around!

Secure with a clip.
Take the front section, twist it, and secure it with a hair clip. First one down, two more to go!

Repeat process so you have 3 sections.
You’ll repeat steps number 2 and 3 two more times, for a total of three clean-parted sections. Remember to secure each of them using a firm grasp before twisting it and securing with a clip. At this point, check yourself out in the mirror and be amazed at those defined lines – our curly frohawk is half way there!

Smooth hair at the roots.
Now, continue by applying some styling gel to the edges and sides of your head, just like SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Defining Styling Gel. By doing so, you’ll help define your frohawk with a hold that lasts all day while kissing flyaways goodbye with this non-alcohol based formula that adds shine.

Brush upwards.
After adding some gel, brush your hair upwards always making sure you’re pulling tightly while simultaneously brushing up to avoid any lumps.

Tie hair in place.
Once the baseline is smoothed out, grab your first section firmly and tie it with a hair tie. Repeat the same process for sections number two, in the middle, and number three, closer to the nape of your neck: apply styling gel and brush it upwards before securing your ponytail with a hair tie.

Define curls.
Showtime! For that extra oomph, twist the ends of your frohawk with a curl enhancing cream, such as SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie. This will add a touch of moisture and definition to your — already cool — hairstyle.
