We’re strong believers that vacation is an important time for recharging and reenergizing your mind, body and soul. A little bit of meditation by the open waters, a few days without any makeup on, and, of course, some much-needed TLC for your strands. Today, we’re walking you through some of our go-to beach hair care tips, including some of our top product recommendations. That means that you can sit back, relax and be content knowing that your hair is recharging, too.
Beach Hair Care Tips and Advice
1. Start in the shower:
You’ll want to stock your beach house shower with a reparative shampoo and conditioner duo as you do your best to prep your hair for the sun and salt water. The Suave Professionals Damage Resist Shampoo and the Suave Professionals Damage Resist Conditioner are a favorite of ours for a few reasons. This shampoo cleanses and restores already distressed hair, leaving it strong and healthy-looking. Enriched with a keratin and antioxidant complex, the conditioner smoothes and restores distressed hair, adding to the strengthening work the shampoo started.
2. Before the beach:
We are often guilty of forgetting to protect our hair from the rays of the sun. Make sure you remember to pack a hat in your suitcase, and always spritz a little bit of heat protectant, like the Nexxus New York Salon Care Promend Heat Protecting Mist, onto your strands before you head out into the sun. While it’s formulated to protect against heat styling, it works just as well to protect against the sun. Plus, it helps repair split ends which means you’ll return from vacation with healthy-looking strands that feel nourished.
3. After the sun goes down:
On the nights when you plan to hang out at home after a long day at the beach take the opportunity, use a hair mask. Take a shower and wash off all the sand and seaweed, then apply the Dove Quench Absolute Intense Restoration Mask onto your hair. Leave it on as instructed on the package, then rinse. You’ll love how this mask will leave your post-beach hair smooth and frizz-free!
