3 D.I.Y. Products for an At-Home Spa Day

A spa day has never been so easy.

You can never underestimate the use of many kitchen staples you most likely already have at your house. From coconut oil to avocados, the food you have right in your fridge can be extremely beneficial to your skin and hair. While we’re all spending a lot of extra time at home, a D.I.Y. spa day is a great way to find new ingredients that may work wonders for your beauty routine (or simply use up the food you want to get rid of, hey!).

Keep scrolling to find out 3 D.I.Y. products you can make for the most relaxing spa day at home.

D.I.Y. Products for an At-Home Spa Day

1. Coconut Coffee Body Scrub for a D.I.Y. Spa Day

This scrub is seriously so easy to make. It’s perfect for any D.I.Y. spa day, because you just need two ingredients: coconut oil and coffee grounds. All you need to do is melt the coconut oil so it turns into a liquid, and then stir in the coffee grounds. The amount of coffee grounds you mix in depends on how abrasive you want the scrub to be. If you’d like a deep exfoliant, add a lot of coffee; if you’d like to go a little heavier on the moisture and not as deep on the exfoliation, add less. This will help you achieve soft and smooth skin! Trust us, this scrub is practically foolproof.

2. Avocado, Egg and Olive Oil Hair Mask for D.I.Y. Spa Day

Dealing with damaged tresses? The omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants in the hair mask can help add strength and shine to your hair. Start by mixing 1/2 an avocado, 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of honey together. Apply the mixture onto wet hair and then wear a shower cap. Blow-dry your hair for 10 minutes with the shower cap on to activate the ingredients and help it all set, and then leave the mask on for another 20 minutes. After that, rinse out the mask in the shower.

Looking to help repair your hair even more? Use TRESemmé Pro Pure Damage Shampoo. This shampoo helps repair the signs of damage while leaving you with soft strands. We also love this shampoo because it’s sulfate-, paraben- and dye-free.

3. Honey Citrus Face Mask

Want glowy, Instagram-worthy skin? Try out this honey citrus face mask during your next D.I.Y spa day to help brighten your complexion (and perk you up via its peppy scent!). Mix together 3 tablespoons of orange juice with 1/4 cup of honey. Apply the mixture onto your face, then rinse off after 15 minutes.

4. Banana, Honey and Olive Oil Hair Mask

Are your strands in need of some major moisture? Blend together 1 banana, 4 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of honey. This mask will help smoothen frizz and add moisture and shine to your locks. Definitely a must for any D.I.Y spa day, leave the mask on for 25 minutes, rinse out and then continue on with your hair care routine.

If you want an extra dose of moisture, wash your hair with Love Beauty and Planet Smooth & Serene Argan Oil & Lavender Shampoo before applying the mask. We love this shampoo because it helps calm unwanted frizz and has the most relaxing lavender scent ever. Plus, it’s sulfate-, paraben- and phthalate-free!
