NYFW FW’23: The Gothic Fairy Hairstyle Sparkles at Rodarte

Join us backstage at Rodarte’s NYFW FW’23 show as we learn how to recreate the sparkling gothic fairy hairstyle. “We wanted to create a gothic fairy look which is the inspiration for the Rodarte’s collection,” says celebrity hair artist for TRESemmé Odile Gilbert. “The hair is intended to appear natural with a carefree feel. It’s our take on a gothic fairy aesthetic.”
Achieve the Gothic Fairy Style

Step 1: Wash and condition hair for a hydrated base.
Start by washing and conditioning hair with TRESemmé Pro Infusion Fluid Smooth Coco-Proteinize™ + Niacinamide Shampoo and Conditioner to create a hydrated base for your style.
2. Apply a hair tonic for a smooth style.
Then apply TRESemmé Pro Infusion Fluid Smooth Hair Tonic evenly throughout damp hair to detangle, smooth, and create a high-shine finish.
3. Blow dry straight.
Use high heat and a round brush to blow dry hair straight. Take extra care to blow dry the roots flat for a frizz-free finish.
4. Straighten hair.
Use a 1 1/4″ flatiron to straighten the hair on medium heat to create a smooth and silky finish.
5. Create a center part and twist the hair.
Create a center part using a pintail comb from the front of the hairline, and separate two sections on each side of the middle part. Create a thin, loose flat twist framing the face until the twist is hidden behind the ear and secured with an elastic.
6. Finish with hairspray.
Allow a layer of hair from the crown to frame the face and loosely cover the braids, and mist the finished look with TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold Hair Spray to set the style in place. Add additional hair accessories once complete.
