We saw big hair volume at Harlem’s Fashion Row NYFW SS ’19 Show and we went backstage with TRESemmé NYFW Stylist, Ursula Stephen, to learn how she created the look. “We used synthetic hair for this look in order to get that dramatic volume that sometimes human hair can’t achieve,” Stephen says, “and then used the Micro Mist Hairspray to lock in that asymmetrical shape.” Curious to learn more about how to create this style and achieve big hair volume? Big Hair Volume at Harlem’s Fashion Row SS ’19 Show
Step 1: Saturate hair.
Saturate your hair with the TRESemmé Repair & Protect 7 Pre-Styling Spray to prep the strands for braids.
Step 2: Braid the hair.
Braid your hair down to lay flat against the head, then put on a stocking cap followed by the wig.
Step 3: Tease the wig.
Tease the wig from the roots to the ends and then spray it using the TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hair Spray in Level 4: Extend to hold.
Step 4: Cut the wig.
Cut most of the length off the wig while cutting it into a triangular shape to achieve this asymmetrical style.
Step 5: Brush the wig.
Brush out the wig to loosen up the curls to make it as fluffy and voluminous as possible.
Step 6: Finished!
Do a final check on the shape and add another layer of hairspray to hold it in place.
