Say bye-bye to damaged hair, finally!
We all know that prevention is better than a cure. What if we told you that Dove also believes this, and decided to use their research to create a system that helps us apply this practice to our hair? That’s right. The renowned beauty brand has developed a wash and care system that stops 90 percent of hair damage before it even happens. We’re talking all of the breakage that happens while combing your hair, after using heat styling tools, and much more. Read on to learn all about the Dove Intensive Repair hair care range your routine is missing.
Dove Intensive Repair: Why You Need It
Let’s be honest with ourselves for a moment: No matter how many articles about healthy hair or damage we read, many of us still apply excessive heat to our hair, overdo it on the coloring (because what’s life without trying the next best hair color trend) and so on. We know that it’s not right, but we do the wrong things anyway. This, my friend, is why this system is ideal. Prevent the damage caused by these stressors before they even happen!
There are so many hair care systems on the market that promise to reverse or treat damage, but either cost a fortune or fail to live up to expectations. Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner are changing the way we care for our hair.
Utilizing research compiled by the brand over the last 60 years, the duo repairs damaged hair on the outside, while actively nourishing the hair fiber at the core to build a stronger foundation for healthy, beautiful hair that is 5 times smoother than before.
The Dove Intensive Repair formula, explained
According to the Dove Research and Development team, “The formula features a unique, patented nourishment system comprised of three innovative technologies–silicone polymers, keratin repair actives and microsheet structured conditioners–that work together unlike any other product range to make hair progressively more resilient to damage after each wash and prevent split ends.” In other words: The conditioner contains a flat layer of molecules that coat the entire hair shaft, unlike traditional conditioners that are made up of spherical vesicles that slide off the hair.
Does Intensive Repair cancel out other damage protection products?
We asked Unilever’s Senior Hair Manager, Leon-Van Gorkhom, if this was the end-all, be-all. Will this system take the place of, let’s say, our heat protectant? Not exactly. According to Leon, this helps protect your hair and can revert your hair back to a stronger condition, making it resilient. However, you’ll still need your heat protectant before using heat styling tools on your hair as an additional layer of protection, especially if you’re going to be constantly restyling in between washes.
Editor’s note: This formula is great for any hair type. The conditioner technology is lightweight so it doesn’t weigh the hair down.
