Hair Serum for Frizzy Hair: Your New Favorite Frizz-Fighting Product
1. What is hair serum?
Hair serums work to protect individual strands by sealing the openings of each hair cuticle. This blocks out the moisture and humidity, causing your hair to become smoother, softer and look sleeker. The great thing about hair serums is that they do wonders for a number of hair types. Hair that has undergone heat damage, multiple chemical processes or have been subjected to one too many tight French braids can all benefit from the restorative benefits of a good serum.
2. What’s the best hair serum for frizzy hair? (Hint: This is one of a few of our favorites)
The TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum is one of our favorite serums for frizz control for a few reasons. Made with Keratin and Marula oil from Africa, this serum works to fight frizz, detangle and tame flyaways–while also making your hair shiny and smooth. This product in particular is safe for color-treated hair so you don’t have to worry about your awesome new color being damaged in the process. It’s also a huge favorite of ours after a blowout that works to calm down any wayward strands without ever making our hair feel greasy or weighted down.
3. How do you apply frizz serum?
A little goes a very long way when you apply serum. Squirt three-to-four drops (dependent on the length of your hair) of serum into your palm and rub your hands together. Comb your fingers through the bottom three-quarters of your strands to evenly distribute the product. You can use serum on damp hair for a bit of a smoother air-dried look or on dry hair to reel in any emerging frizz or flyaways.
