1.Prep your tresses for the new season.

If you’ve been ditching your hair appointments all summer long, it’s time to have your hairstylist pencil you into their appointment book. After a summer filled with poolside fun and playing around with numerous hair trends, your color-treated strands are probably not in the best state. The fall season brings colder weather temperatures which can also contribute to the dry feeling of your hair.! Ask for a trim and a treatment to prep your locks for the new season.

2. Add a new trendy color for fall.

Just when we thought the ombré hair trend would die down, there’s another hot and new color on the horizon. Rose gold is having a major moment. To get the look without adding more bleach to your hair, opt for a semi-permanent hair color. Use a rinse with pinkish tones. When you’re tired of the look, after a few shampoos it’s all gone!

3. Extend the look of your color.

How does one keep her hair color fresh for yet another season? Use a hair care system that replenishes the look! We swear by Nexxus New York Salon Color Assure hair care system. Why? Who wouldn’t want to preserve their hair color and maintain its vibrancy? Use the Color Assure Pre: Primer to protect your hair before washing then follow up by cleansing with Nexxus Color Assure Rebalancing Shampoo. To nourish and retain the vibrancy of your color condition with the Nexxus Color Assure Restoring Conditioner. Then, apply some of the Nexxus New York Salon Care Glossing Tonic onto damp hair, dry and style as usual.

4. Opt for work-appropriate styles.

If you were one of the lucky ones, when the summer solstice began, that also commenced the beginning of your season-long vacation (jealous!). Getting away from the workplace and having the freedom to do as you please — like dying your hair blue for summer or trying unicorn ombré — was at the top of your summer bucket list. But now, it’s time to get back to the drawing board. If you work in a corporate environment, some of the hairstyles you carelessly wore all summer long may not be appropriate, but there are definitely ways to tone down your look without having to get rid of your hair color. Try hairstyles like buns and work-appropriate braid hairstyles.
