Adorn Your Hair with Gems for a Super Extra Night Out Look

We have found that the majority of women have a handful of go-to hairstyles on rotation. If it ticks all the necessary boxes and is flattering, wearable, and a good balance of classic and trendy, it’s a yes. And while there’s the occasional opportunity to deviate from the norm, we are generally creatures of habit, sticking to the same beach waves and knotted buns again and again. In the name of introducing a touch of variation, we present what is perhaps the most extra night-out look of the year. Justine Marjan, TRESemmé Global Stylist and hair adornment queen created the ’70s boho rocker waves of our dreams studded with tiny gems.

Try a light scattering of gems for a subtle look or a heavily-loaded pattern for a super extra style. Here is a step-by-step breakdown of how you can create the style at home.

This Night-Out Look is Extra in the Best Way

You can recreate this style on any hair length!

Step 1: Prep your hair.

Prep dry hair with TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Level 4: Extend Hair Spray and then brush the product through.

Step 2: Create S-waves.

Use a flat iron to alternate between S-waves and push waves, keeping the ends straight for a super undone, low-volume finish. The trick to creating the perfect S-wave is to feed the hair through the straightener and make sure that you pause long enough to let the hair really heat up.

Step 3: Add texture and movement.

Spray TRESemmé Dry Texture Finishing Spray to add texture and movement to your waves.

Step 4: Adorn away.

Finish with TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Level 4: Extend Hair Spray. Use hair glue and tweezers to apply tiny gems throughout the waves.
