The 90s Bob is the Haircut You Need to Update Your Style
The 90s are back!
The comeback of the 90s bob is proof that shorter strands aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Short, textured, and full of edgy personality, the 90s bob is the ultimate cool-girl style of 2022.
Em Roberts, beauty creator and podcaster, host of The Big Move Podcast, and co-founder of the Monday Network, recently made the big chop herself. Em’s style is proof that the 90s bob leans from casual to fancy and back again…and it’s all in how you style it. Read on to hear from the team who created this look and for some expert 90s bob styling tips.
The 90s Bob is Back
Payne also recommends using a holding spray to keep the texture intact. We love TRESemmé Total Volume Hair Spray, collagen, and vitamin-infused hairspray that adds hold to your strands while also giving your tresses a boost in the health department.
Payne also recommends finishing off with a moisturizing cream to add some shine. Nexxus Ultralight Smooth Frizz Defy Cream Serum is the ultimate multi-tasking cream that fights frizz and adds instant smoothness.
Em’s Color Story
As far as color goes, we spoke to Bee, also known as The Color Concierge.
“A striking cut needs a striking color…the soft blonde that we had been creating on Em didn’t need a lot to make it bolder. Brightness around the face with babylights and a few balayage pieces lifted the whole vibe.”
Styling the 90s Bob
“In terms of styling, it’s been pretty low-maintenance!” Em says. “I have fine hair with a slight wave – so some days I’ll just let it air dry with a bit of wave spray or toss in some dry shampoo. Other days when I have more time I’ll blow dry straight and pop a straightener through to get it looking super slick!”
Here at All Things Hair, we have been loving Suave Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo for a second-day refresh or just a bit of added texture.
