Tutorial 1: Creating a Double Braid Bun

Start with clean and combed hair.

For an easy route to intricate double braid buns braids, starting with clean hair is a must. A fresh wash and condition sets you up for easy-to-comb hair and eliminates any knots from the start. The Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Smoothing Shampoo and Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Conditioner will clean and soften your hair.

Gather half your hair.

Section off the top portion of your hair. Start at your ears and meet at the back of your head, separating the top and bottom sections.

Create a simple three-strand braid.

Using this top portion, create a three strand braid. This involves you criss-crossing your hair from the outside on top of the middle section and then the other outer section towards the middle. Repeat the process.

Continue to the end and secure.

Continue braiding all the way down to the ends of that strand and secure it with a clear hair tie.

Start a second three-strand braid.

Tie the first braid up and out of your way and create a second three-strand braid with the bottom section.

Secure the second braid.

Secure the second braid with another clear hair tie.

Let the braids down.

Leave the braids down and get ready to start creating your updo.

Coil the bottom braid.

Using the braid you created with the bottom section of your hair, coil the braid in a swirl-shape against your head. Use pins around the edges to secure it in place.

Do the same with the second braid.

Coil the second braid around the outside of the first and pin it into place as you go. Tuck the tail of each braid into the center of the twist and pin them into place, too.

Hairspray is a must to lock in this style. The Dove Style + Care Extra Hold Non-Aerosal Hairspray will let you confidently go forth and rock this gorgeous style in the world!
