My Hair Care Routine During Social Distancing Saved My Strands

My new hair routine during social distancing has saved my strands.

If you’re anything like me, then your first few weeks of social distancing were filled with messy buns, ponytails and only a handful of showers. I thought I was doing my hair and my laziness a favor by skipping the shower more than usual. Many people changed their social-distancing hair routine to “doing pretty much nothing at all,” myself included. I thought my hair would thank me, but I quickly realized I was wrong.

Not only did I notice that I felt better mentally after sticking to a normal wash and care routine, but my hair was also happier. I also decided to take the time to do a little research and try some new hair care products for my current hair needs. Here’s what I did to change up my social-distancing hair routine, maybe you’ll find some inspo and switch up yours!

Switch to a detox cleansing duo to remove unwanted buildup.

1. Switch to a Detox Cleansing Duo

The first big change I made to my social-distancing hair routine was switching to Nexxus Clean & Pure Nourishing Detox Shampoo and Conditioner. This duo is gentle on my hair but still does an incredible job of detoxing my strands and making them feel salon-fresh. I highly recommend this duo, especially to those who still aren’t ready to wash their hair as regularly as before, it will give you the ultimate clean without drying your hair out.

2. Add in a Conditioner Booster

Another game-changer was adding in a conditioner booster. TIGI Copyright Custom Care Repair Booster is a product you can add to your conditioner for an added boost to strengthen weak and damaged hair. I add 3-4 pumps to my conditioner and let it sit in my hair for 5 minutes. When I wash it out my hair feels so soft and shiny, I have a hard time not touching it! This product isn’t for everyday use—I break out once a month to reset my strands.

3. Try Out a Scalp Scrub

Another weekly product I’ve added to my social distancing hair routine is a scalp scrub. If I’ve spent a few extra days sans hair wash or spent a few hours in the sun and got a little bit of a scalp sunburn, this product becomes my new BFF. I love how gently it removes product buildup and unwanted flakes from my scalp. I feel so fresh afterward and it gives me all the spa vibes, right from my own shower. Nexxus Clean & Pure Invigorating Detox Scalp Scrub has been my number one go-to choice these past few months.

Those are all of the products I’ve switched into my social-distancing hair routine and my hair has never been happier. Giving my hair tons of TLC these past few months have brought it back to a healthy and beautiful state. Try out some of these recommendations and see for yourself.
