New York seems to have jumped straight from summer to winter without giving fall a second thought. I’ve been pulling out my sweaters and boots and have started to think about my winter hair routine. There are a few products I’ll be incorporating to ensure that I’m prioritizing my hair this season and maintaining its strength and health no matter what the forecast brings. If you’re curious about my winter hair routine and want to learn how to create your own, read on:
My Moisturizing Winter Hair Routine
As a beauty editor and lifelong member of the hair product junkie club, it’s no surprise that my shower shelf is full of various wash and care products, hair masks and oils. This winter I’m planning on streamlining my collection and opting for just one moisturizing duo to keep my strands healthy and strong.
Nexxus Hydra-Light Weightless Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner are my go-to when my hair needs the equivalent of a big drink of water. Formulated to deliver long-lasting moisture, this duo is the shampoo and conditioner I’m dreaming of by the time we’re halfway through winter. High heat settings in my apartment paired with regular hot tool styling means that my hair needs every drop of moisture it can get.
Once a week I’ll make an effort to set aside some time for a hair mask. I’ll run Dove Anti-Frizz Oil Therapy Hair Mask through the ends of my hair and let it sit while I take a bath and catch up on some reading. It’s the perfect self care habit to institute and is an always welcome part of my routine after a day out in the blustery New York winter weather.
