How to Wear Hair Jewels for Halloween

Go for a super low-key yet stylish look for Halloween.

Participating in Halloween festivities doesn’t always mean you have to wear the scariest zombie or vampire costume. You can totally join in on the fun with a simple and cute hair trend like hair jewels. Some of us would rather not go full-on with an extravagant costume and prefer something that’s low-key or easy to put together last minute. Not to mention hair jewels are budget-friendly: There’s no need to head over to your local costume store to rack up on tons of accessories to nail your final Halloween look. All you need is a neat braid, some metal hair charms, a bold red lip and you’re golden! We’re calling this the modern-day vampire look, and here’s how you can get this look with hair jewels:

Step 1: Style on Clean Hair

Prep clean hair with TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray, then use a flat iron to straighten your hair. After straightening, apply The Good Stuff Frizz Control Oil to smooth down any flyaways.

Step 2: Create Your Braid

Create a deep side part, then section off the right side of your part for your braid. Braid your hair towards your scalp all the way down to your ends and secure with a hair elastic.

Step 3: Add Hair Charms

Loop charms or hair rings along your braid. You can add as many as you like to pile on the fun!

Step 4: Set with Hairspray

Finish your look with a hairspray that provides flexible hold, like Dove Style+Care Strength and Shine Flexible Hold Hairspray

Bonus: If you want to up the ante just a bit, buy some fangs for a spookier look!
