How to Create OC Texture on Your Hair
Easy, breezy OC style.
Dove Hair is on a mission to make women feel good about their hair. In new video campaign, the brand emphasizes the importance of expanding the view of what beautiful hair is, especially since eight out of 10 women feel pressured to wear their hair a certain way. While in attendance at Mom 2.0, the popular blogging conference, Dove was on-hand to create styles so that all women could #LoveTheirHair. All an ode to the easy, breezy styles of California (also where the conference was held), the brand provided bloggers with a list of styles to choose from including SoCal Fishtail braids, the Pacific bun, Sunset sleek straight hair, or the most popular: OC texture. The beauty of this style is that it works for a variety of hair types and textures and only requires a few steps for you to master it at home. Tips provided by Dove Hair Care
Step 1: Use dry shampoo.
To revive strands between traditional washes, spray some Dove Refresh + Care Volume & Fullness Dry Shampoo on lifted sections of dry hair 8-12 inches from roots, where hair is mostly oily. Massage through roots to absorb oil evenly then brush through for hair that is refreshed and full of volume.
Step 2: Use a curling iron.
Take 3-4 inch sections of hair and wrap around a 1-inch curling iron (don’t use the clamp on the iron), and hold for only a few seconds to create loose waves.
Step 3: Add shine.
To add shine and piecey-ness, take 1-2 drops of Dove Absolute Curls Supreme Creme Serum onto your hands and rub them together, then rake your hands through your hair from mid-length to ends.
