Whether you want to add body and volume to your standard ponytail, or if you just admire the look of a full ponytail, we’ve got a fun tutorial to help you add some serious volume to your locks. This is definitely a hair hack worth learning and mastering!
Steps to Creating Volume to Your Ponytail
Detangle dry hair.
Wash hair with Suave Professionals Almond & Shea Butter Shampoo and condition with Suave Professionals Almond & Shea Butter Conditioner for moisturized hair. To begin styling, brush or comb dry hair to ensure you are starting off with a smooth texture.
Gather hair together.
Gather your hair up into a high ponytail. We like the look at the center of your crown.
Set hair in place.
Once you’ve found the perfect placement, secure your ponytail with a hair tie, then proceed to the next step.
Tease underneath.
Pull the ends of your hair up towards your crown. Grab a fine-tooth comb and begin to back comb the hair to tease. This will add texture as well as body to your locks.
Tease top section.
Once you’re done teasing underneath your ponytail, do the same with the top section. Be sure to gently tease to avoid creating tangles and knots.
Finger comb.
Use your fingers to tease the ends of your hair. You can pull out specific sections that you’d like to focus on as you create an edgy, piece-y effect to the ends.
Finished look!
There you have it! A well-teased and voluminous hairstyle. Grab some hairspray to set your hair in place and you’re done.
Opt for a hairspray that gives you a flexible hold and volume like TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Flexible Finish Hairspray so your hair doesn’t appear stiff. You want to keep the natural movement of your hair.
