Tutorial: Glam 1920s-Inspired Curly Hair Updo with Nikki Phillippi
Wash and condition your hair.
Start off by washing and conditioning your hair using the Suave Professionals Coconut Oil Infusion Damage Repair Shampoo and the Suave Professionals Coconut Oil Infusion Damage Repair Conditioner. This system will nourish and cleanse your hair while also working to repair any visible damage.
Apply mousse to your hair.
Apply a dollop of the Nexxus New York Salon Care Styling Mousse Plus throughout your hair. Allow your hair to naturally air-dry.
Divide your hair.
Divide your hair into two big sections. Then pins the top section up, so it’s out of the way.
Curl your hair.
Curling your hair in the same direction is essential for nailing this 1920s-inspired look. Work section-by-section throughout your hair as you create defined ringlets with your curling iron.
Accessorize your hair.
An era appropriate headband is the perfect 1920s touch to take this updo to the next level. Place a feather headband (or another festive alternative) an inch or so back from your hairline.
Gather your bun.
Gathers your hair into a low ponytail on the side of your hair and twists it into your hand to create a messy bun.
Pin your hair.
Use a few bobby pins to pins your bun into place. For a chic 1920s look, leave a few pieces of hair out of your hair as you let random curls fall out.
Lock in your style.
Lock in your glam 1920s hairstyle by using some of the TRESemmé Tres Two Extra Hold Hairspray. This hairspray will give your new party updo an extra-firm hold as it protects your hair from humidity and frizz.
