Alice + Olivia F/W 2018 Goes Pretty in Punk with Wondrous Waves and, Yes, an Actual Marie Antoinette Beehive
Let them eat cake... and their hearts out!
We’re no strangers to the creative and esoteric offerings at Alice + Olivia, which can range from the bookishly quirky to even witchy-chic. This season was no exception, as Stacey Bendet’s F/W 2018 collection was a study in pretty in punk, with a dash of psychedelic ’60s mod thrown in. Wondrous Waves for Alice + Olivia F/W 2018
Step 1: Start on clean, washed hair.

Step 2: Apply heat protectant.
Spritz some thermal protectant, like TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Defense Spray, onto damp starts to protect hair against heat damage and breakage.
Step 3: Apply serum.
Evenly apply a quarter-sized amount of TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum to damp hair, from roots to ends, to encourage shine and smoothness.

Step 4: Part and dry.
Create a clean center part and blow-dry hair until at least 90 percent dry.
Step 5: Section and curl hair.
Using the end of a fishtail comb, section hair horizontally and curl 1-inch sections vertically around a 1-inch curling iron barrel.
Step 6: Smoothen with a brush.
Spray a smoothing brush with a fine-mist hairspray, like TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Boost Hold Level 3, and back-brush hair to create volume with hold at the ends.
Step 7: Refine your curls.
Use a curling iron around the top layer of hair to re-define any curls.
Step 8: Smoothen with a serum.
Using your fingertips, run a small amount of TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum through mid-lengths to ends to break up the waves.
Step 9: Finish with hairspray.
Set those wondrous waves with an allover light misting of TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Extend Hold Level 4 for a controlled yet touchable finish.
Marie Antoinette for Alice + Olivia F/W 2018
Step 1: Start on clean, washed hair.
Freshly-washed hair has more body, which is crucial for a mega-beehive! Wash hair with TRESemmé Thick & Full Shampoo and Thick & Full Conditioner to plumpen up strands for this full, boisterous look.

Step 2: Apply heat protectant.
Spritz damp hair with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Defense Spray to shield hair against breakage and heat damage.
Step 3: Blow-dry.
Blow-dry until almost 90 percent dry. Brush through to remove any tangles.
Step 4: Curl small sections first.
Set hair by curling small sections using a 1-inch curling iron all in the same direction around the face. Secure with pins and allow to cool.
Step 5: Curl the back.
Curl the rest of the hair back and away from the face, and pin back to cool.
Step 7: Set with some hairspray.
Spray on TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Boost Hold Level 3 all over, and then let hair cool for 20 minutes.
Step 8: Remove pins and attach padding.
Remove curls, take out the pins and attach hair padding to the crown to create that trademark, larger-than-life Marie Antoinette updo.
Step 9: Set with hairspray.
Spray a smoothing brush with TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Extend Hold Level 4, and then brush through the rest of the hair, pinning it up around the padding with French pins.
Step 10: Refine stragglers with a toothbrush doused in hairspray.
“Spritz TRESemmé Compressed Micro-Mist Hairspray Extend Hold Level 4 on a toothbrush and brush hair upward [in a vertical motion] to tame any flyaways,” explains Marjan.
