Get the Renaissance Look from Altuzarra FW2017
A modern spin on medieval times.
You Will Need
During New York Fashion Week, we loved how the hair at Altuzarra had a medieval theme. During the 15th Century, women favored high foreheads (as a status symbol) and went as far as plucking their hairlines to get the look. As a styling hack, for those who still couldn’t achieve the look, they opted for using turbans or headdresses to hide their forehead or pull their hair back. For a modern spin on this look, models were sent down the Altuzarra runway with pulled-back ponytails wearing thick and textured headbands, some were even adorned with pearl embellishments. If you want to try your hand on this look, read on to learn how you can channel the Renaissance look straight off the runway.

Step 1: Start with clean hair.
Begin by washing hair with TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Reverse Wash System. First, use the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Pre-Wash Conditioner to soften your hair, followed by the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Shampoo to wash away weight of the conditioner.
Step 2: Apply mousse
Add a generous amount of TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Mousse throughout your hair, then blow-dry your hair in sections.
Step 3: Protect and curl.
Spray the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Flat Iron Smoothing Spray onto sections of your hair, then curl each section using a curling iron to create loose waves, leaving two inches at the end untouched.
Step 4: Tease and add texture.
Use a brush like Ibiza B3 Round Hair Brush to tease hair at the crown then slide a headband on two inches from the forehead.
Step 5: Boost volume.
Apply TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Hair Maximizer throughout the head of your hair to add a boost of volume.
Step 6: Create your ponytail.
Gather your hair into a low ponytail, then finish the look by spraying the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Flexible Hairspray for a light, flexible hold.
