NYFW Creatures of Comfort FW18: Style with Personality
A runway style that's all about showing off your natural texture.
It was all about showcasing each model’s individual hair type and texture backstage at the Creatures of Comfort FW18 NYFW show. With a foolproof air-dry method and a ‘wash and go’ style that you can actually depend on, this look is ideal for both on the runway and off. We went backstage at Creatures of Comfort and spoke to TRESemmé global stylist Justine Marjan, who walked us through the details of the style and gave us an inside peek at the best way to achieve the runway look:
Creatures of Comfort: Style with Personality
“It’s really natural and it’s supposed to be how the girls naturally wear their hair,” Marjan says, “All the girls have different hair types and textures and really unique haircuts. Some of them have short hair, some of them have curls some of them have bangs so it’s really about the individual girl and letting her personality shine through.”
Step 1: Wash and prep hair.
Start off by prepping your hair with TRESemmé Thick & Full Shampoo and TRESemmé Thick & Full Conditioner.

Step 2: Apply styling products.
Then apply the new TRESemmé Thick & Full Balm from the roots to the ends of your strands, and spray TRESemmé Repair & Protect 7 Pre-Styling Spray throughout your hair to prevent potential damage and breakage.
“We want something that has movement on the runway but doesn’t look frizzy or totally unkempt,” Marjan says. “We’re using the new TRESemmé Micro Mist Hairspray to get rid of a little bit of frizz. It’s only a level 2 hold, so it has a light hold and as she walks down the runway her hair will still move without getting frizzy or disheveled.”
Step 3: Air-dry.
Let your hair air-dry, or you can pin it up with clips and dry it with the diffuser attachment on your hair dryer.
Step 4: Finish your style.
Lock in your natural texture with the new TRESemmé Compressed Micro-Mist Hairspray.
“Every girl is going to look different so there isn’t one unique look for the whole show,” Marjan says. “It’s just about who they are and [what] their personalities [are]. I think that what really translates in this look and on the runway is just embracing who you are and feeling good about the hair that you have. The clothes are very tailored and there are some bold prints and colors, and I think that the undone hair is a nice contrast to that.”
