Tricks to Relax Over Curled Hair
This solution is definitely the most obvious. If you have over curled hair but not a lot of time to relax it, then using your fingers as a comb is a good idea. You can use a brush, too! When you’re loosening your curls this way, it might not be as uniform as you want but it’ll still have a loose wave effect. Take a pump of a smoothing cream to help you comb through your strands without breakage. Bed Head by TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream is perfect for the job, as it helps you loosen your style and leaves you with a soft, shiny finish.
Relax it with a blow-dryer.
This solution takes a little longer but is totally worth it. Start by re-applying heat protectant to your strands since you’re going back in with a hot tool. We love TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Flat Iron Smoothing Spray for this.
Next, use a round brush and a blowdryer set on warm to relax your curls. You don’t need to re-roll the curl up the brush, just move the brush down with a slight twist of the wrist to keep the movement in your hair. Make sure to hold the blow-dryer above your head so that the heat is blowing directly down on your hair.
This movement will gently loosen your curls and create beautiful loose waves. Once you get the hang of this process, it’ll be a quick and easy fix!
Finish your look with a spritz of hairspray to lock your style in. Our current fave is TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hair Spray Texture Hold Level 1. This spray will hold your style and emphasize the effortless texture you created.
