Get through Black Friday like a pro: here are our tips and tricks to get the most out of it (without breaking the bank!)

Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year, every year. And thousands of people (probably more) worldwide eagerly await this day for months in advance.

This is the day when you could get the most insane deals on products that you typically wouldn’t dream of, because they would break the bank. But, many of us go a little crazy with our purchases and end up breaking the bank anyway! Or we get in on the Black Friday mania too late and everything we wanted has been sold out. Either way, we need a solid plan of action — a list of Black Friday tips and tricks to get us through. And we’ve got just that. Keep reading for more.

Set your budget

Hands up if you’ve ever over-spent on Black Friday — most of us have. With so many awesome deals, it’s super easy to spend way too much on things that we don’t actually need. So be sure to set your budget before anything else.

Plan early

To help ensure you stay within in your budget, this Black Friday tip is essential. Decide on the items you want before Black Friday rolls around.

TRESemmé Botanic Moisture & Replenish Shampoo

When it comes to Black Friday hair products, we suggest investing in products you’ve had your eye on for a while. Alternatively, you can invest in all-rounder hair products, that you know will serve you well. An all-rounder haircare system is the TRESemmé Botanic Shampoo and Conditioner. These products are suited to all hair types and will deeply nourish your hair without weighing it down. For best results, you may want to look into the rest of the range as well.

For an all-purpose hair oil/serum, we highly recommend the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Oil. Enriched with marula oil and other nourishing natural oils, this will smooth and nourish your hair, giving it an enviable shine.

When it comes to styling, it’s a bit more difficult to choose an all-rounder product. For out naturalistas out there, we’d suggest the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie to define, treat and hydrate your curls. Alternatively, you could opt for a styling mousse, like the VO5 Extra Body Styling Mousse. This will give your hair hold and volume, while protecting it from the elements with its UV filter and Climate Control Technology.

Research deals

Once you know what items you would ideally purchase on Black Friday, it’s time to research deals. This lets you know which products will be going on sale, and which you may have to buy at another date. And aside from that, this Black Friday tip is particularly useful because it lets you know how for long the deals will be running. In recent years, many stores, brands and outlets have had weekend, week or month-long Black Friday deals.

Track and compare prices

This  tip will help you to know how good a Black Friday deal really is (some places have been known to exaggerate the savings on their deals). By comparing prices, you will also know where the best deals are, allowing you to save even more.

Check the return policy

Some stores don’t accept returns on Black Friday items (or other items bought on sale). So, we suggest you check what the return policy is of the places you’re looking to purchase from. Also, be sure that you’ve selected the right item before finalising your purchase. For example, check sizing charts for clothing, and double-check that hair products promise to meet your hair needs.

Shop online

This Black Friday tip is not only simple, but will also save you loads of headaches. Ditch the store. If you can avoid it, don’t shop in-person. This will allow you to avoid the long queues and jam-packed shops. Instead, we suggest you shop online.

Set up online accounts beforehand

If you do decide to shop online this Black Friday, one of the best things you can do is identify which online stores you plan on buying from. Then, create accounts for these stores. This will help save so much time on the day, as you will just log in, and all your necessary details will be there waiting for you to make your purchase.

Use your Wishlist

Here at All Things Hair HQ the Wishlist is on our list of loves. This Black Friday tip cuts down your time spent on the site and makes it easier and quicker to get the sale items you want. Which means, no more scrolling through an entire site full of deals, to find the few that you want.

Stay calm

Above all, remember to stay calm. When the IRL shops are filled to bursting, and the online stores slow down from the sheer traffic on the site – stay calm. It’s easier said than done, but this Black Friday tip is actually really helpful. When you panic, the experience is ruined and you forget things — and no-one wants to forget the crazy deals they’ve been looking forward to.

Don’t forget about Cyber Monday

If all else fails, and you miss out on some deals, there’s Cyber Monday to fall back on. This is typically another day of crazy sales, that happens on the first Monday after Black Friday. So, if you didn’t get all of your items on Black Friday, check back in on Cyber Monday — they might just be on sale again.
