Easy Fixes for Your Best Prom Hair

The twisted ponytail style is a great style option to pair with a strapless prom gown.

1. Low Twisted Ponytail Prom Hairstyle

To achieve this stylish look, part your hair to the side or towards the middle and swoop hair back towards your nape. Secure your hair into a low ponytail. Create gaps going along the length of the ponytail by taking out sections of hair from the left and right sides and secure with a hair tie about 2 inches below the previous hair tie. Continue this method until you get to the ends of the hair. If you decide to take out some pieces for a wispy effect, tease hair with a fine tooth comb and opt for TRESemmé TRES Two Ultra Fine Mist Hair Spray for a weightless and flexible hold.

Pro tip: Use a clear elastic band so that it blends in with your natural hair color.

2. Long Curls

Curling iron won’t turn on last minute? No worries! Use some self-grip rollers to add some flawless curls to your hair. With a blast of heat from your blowdryer, set those curls in place and allow them to cool. Keep your hair bouncy and soft by setting your curls with TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Flexible Finish Hair Spray.

3. Low Chignon

Out of your trusty hair tie? What a bummer! Create a chic chignon instead. Part your hair in two (like pigtails) and tie them together in the middle as if you were beginning to tie your shoelaces. Wrap the hair around into a bun and secure with bobby pins. Set your bun in place with a holding spray like TRESemmé TRES Two Freeze Hold Hair Spray.

4. Full Ponytail

Is thin hair getting the not-so-best of you? Or do you just want a really voluminous effect? Fake a full ponytail by teasing the ends of your hair! Create a ponytail at the middle and secure with a hair tie. Comb the ends of the hair in an upward motion to tease and add definition. Finish off with TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Extend Hold Level 4 for a strong, non-crunchy hold.

5. Transitional Prom Hairstyle

From the prom to the after-party, there may not be enough time to switch up your hairstyle. Wear an elegant braided bun to prom and spritz it with hairspray, like Dove Style+Care Extra Hold Hair Spray, for a strong hold. The duration of your prom festivities should be long enough to allow your hair to set. Use this hairstyle as a prom hair hack, simply change your hairstyle quickly before your after party by removing your braids to reveal a beautiful wavy hairstyle.
