Get the Look: The Chic Deep Side Part Ponytail from the Carolina Herrera Show

We’re no strangers to the glamorous femininity at the Carolina Herrera show for New York Fashion Week—in fact, we expect nothing less. For Fall/Winter 2017, the renowned womenswear designer kept it true to form with sleek silhouettes, electro-pleated ruffles and charming pussy-bow details on her trademark crisp white tees—all accentuated by what was probably the chicest, cleanest, most uptown-looking deep side part updo we’ve seen yet.

Backstage, TRESemmé‘s Global Stylist Odile Gilbert whipped the team into shape with a few choice words: “The key to this look is to create smooth and shiny hair, without it looking oily, for a chic and sophisticated style.” Read on for a step-by-step breakdown of how they achieved these red carpet-worthy ponies:

Step 1: Start in the shower.

Step 2: Use (heat) protection!

Step 3: Create your part.

Create your deep side part updo by using a rat-tail or fishtail comb to part your hair a few inches above one ear.
