How to wash and maintain Brazilian hair at home

Here’s your easy guide to managing and caring for your Brazilian hair in the comfort of your home:

• Gently brush the hair with a detangling brush to avoid tangles and breakage. Start by brushing out the ends whilst working your way to the top. NB. brushing hard can cause hair to shed, especially if the hair is curly, so loosen any tangles with your fingers first.
• Detangle the hair before washing.
• Gently wash hair in warm water using a gentle, moisturising shampoo. Ensure not to scrunch the hair as it causes tangling. If a lot of product has been used and it is not attached to your head soak for 10 minutes.
• Rinse using warm water.
• Condition the hair, once again not scrunching the hair. Once this is done, rinse with warm water.
• Once you have washed and treated the hair we recommend air-drying it. To do this, gently pat with a dry towel and leave to stand.
• Apply a dry oil and brush through gently.
• Tip: In order to maintain the quality of hair ensure you use a hair mask once a week. And remember, if you heat-style the hair, use a heat protectant.
