Easy holiday hairstyles for kids
It’s holiday time and with the kids home from school you can both have a break from those early morning hair adventures. Put a pin in those regular school hairstyles, it’s time for some fun! We’ve put together a few easy holiday hairstyles for kids that both you and your little ones will love.
1. Braided front with accent braids
If your kids usually have their hair up and tied back for school, these loose accent braids might be something they love! Braid back the top section of their hair, leaving two thick strands of hair loose at the front. Braid the two loose strands and secure with a small elastic band. Make this easy holiday hairstyle extra special by adding a few fun clips to the accent braids.
For an easier braiding process, prep your little one’s hair with the Organics Funtangly Detangling Spray. This will moisturise and soften their hair so that the detangling before braiding isn’t something either of you have to dread.
2. Flower crowns
One incredibly easy hairstyle for kids that will make your little one feel ready for summer is a flower crown style. Keep all of their hair down and simply add a fun flower crown on top. This look takes minutes to create but if you’re looking for something to keep the kids busy, get them to make their own flower crown. Holiday art project plus a hairstyle? The answer is YES.
3. Small twists or locs
If your kids have grown their hair out and want to try something other than tying it up, creating small twists or locs are perfect. For an even cooler look, keep the back and sides short so that their little twists are the focus. Not only does this hairstyle look adorable on kids, but once twisted you will have a fuss-free, long-lasting look.
4. Pom-poms
If you and your kids are into accessories, colourful hair pom-poms are a must. Tie their hair into two high ponytails and add their favourite bright/sparkly/fuzzy pom-poms to the base of each pony.
Editor’s tip: To make hair washdays as easy as these holiday hairstyles for kids, try the Organics Strawbelicious 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner. This kid-friendly shampoo contains real fruit extracts and smells amazing as well as gently cleanses the hair and scalp with its no-tear formula.
5. Holiday streaks and highlights
If your kids are a bit older and are starting to experiment with their style, a few holiday hair streaks or highlights could be fun. Although we’d suggest visiting a salon to get the colour job done, this holiday hairstyle is still super easy to maintain.
To keep hair well moisturised and nourished after dyeing it, apply a small amount of the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie to their hair after washing.
