Spending the summer holiday indoors: Planning your staycation

The summer holidays are creeping up real quick… If you aren’t planning on travelling or are unable to see all your family and friends this holiday, why not plan your own mini staycation?

Summer holidays indoors might not sound like the traditional December vibes, but it may be a reality that some of us face — so why not make the most of it? Here’s some tips to help you get ready for your indoors holiday and plan an epic staycation.

Virtual games night

If you and your family can’t physically get together this holiday, you can definitely find other ways to stay connected. Why not plan a virtual games night with the squad? All it takes is a Zoom call and board games

that each of you have at home (something like 30 Seconds or Pictionary work perfectly). If that’s not ideal, then why not try a gaming app? We’d say Among Us and Words With Friends seem to be winners.

Catch up on your watch-list

We don’t see anything wrong with wanting to catch up on your Netflix and Showmax watch-lists this summer holiday. In fact, an indoor summer requires some downtime to binge a show that you haven’t had the chance to watch yet. Our top tip is to get your list ready! Save some series and plan your watch party.

Funky holiday hair

Add some summer fun to your indoors holiday with a funky new hair colour or style. If you’ve been craving a new look, now is the time! Try a chop and go for a super short edgy cut, or go big and bold with a bright colour.

If you opt to dye your hair, make sure to nourish and repair any chemical damage by setting aside some time for a deep treatment. Using the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Mask times a week will help strengthen your strands and leave them looking lush.

Decorate!

Although this Summer holiday may feel slightly different, it’s definitely still a holiday — so treat it like one. Make it feel special (and festive) by decorating your place, even if it’s just for you. Add some glitz with tinsel or string some fairy lights around your home. If it looks good, you’ll feel great. Go get your decor ready now!
