5 Ways to Smooth Out Flyaway Hair
Real talk: There’s nothing more annoying than flyaway hair. Those little hairs are caused by broken hairs or new hair growth and they can easily ruin a good hair day. After all of the hard work you put into your hairstyle, having flyaway hairs can feel endlessly irritating.
As much as you try to get rid of them, they often keep coming back. Don’t stress! We’ve got a few tricks and products you might not have tried yet that could take those flyaways down for good.
Sleep with a silk pillowcase.

Try switching from a cotton pillowcase to a silk one. Silk absorbs less moisture because it’s less porous than cotton, making it a better option to sleep on for your hair and your skin. Maintaining moisture is key to hair health and will help prevent breakage and flyaways. Satin is another, more affordable option that is also more beneficial than cotton.
Use a hydrating conditioner.
A hydrating conditioner is a great flyaway hair product and is perfect to use to encourage your hair to cooperate and sit tight. The less dry your hair is, the easier it will be to tame flyaway hair. Try shampooing less or use a more moisturising formula, and add a moisturising conditioner to your lineup. We highly recommend washing with a duo like the Organics Silky Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner.
Use styling tools.

Using the ‘roll and pull’ method most hairstylists swear by, take a vented round brush and gently tug on your strands to keep them taut and straight as you dry. Make sure the nozzle is attached to the end of your blowdryer to better direct the airflow, and keep it pointed downwards as you dry so all the hair lays flat. This will help leave you with a smooth finish with no flyaways.
Use smoothing products.
Humidity can get you down by causing little hairs to curl up and look like flyaway hair. If you live in a humid environment, it may feel like there’s nothing you can do about it. We’ve all been there. Luckily, there are serums that are good flyaway hair products to save the day.

Try out TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Oil to tame frizz and flyaways and leave your hair super smooth.
Tame flyaways when you style.
A surefire way to tame flyaways is to lock in your style with your trusty hairspray. But, you do need to be quick about it to use this trick. When you are totally done styling your hair, use hairspray to set your style and seal in those flyaways. Mist your hair with TRESemmé Firm Hold Hair Spray, and before the spray dries, smooth over your hair with your hands. This will hold any little hairs into place.
This also works for little baby hairs and flyaways near your part, even if you’re just wearing your hair down. Just spritz with the hairspray where the hairs stick out and smooth down with your fingers. It’s pretty much magic.
