We’re Making This DIY Hair Scrub for a Mane & Scalp Detox

Give your hair a much-needed reset with our nourishing DIY scalp scrub!

Love using face and body scrubs? Well, you’ll be happy to know that scalp can benefit from them, too. Our scalps need just as much TLC as the rest of our hair, and if you’re not properly exfoliating yours with a hair scrub between washes, you’re missing out.

A clean scalp is a secret to healthy-looking hair, and sometimes using a shampoo and conditioner alone isn’t enough to tackle product buildup. Luckily, our easy DIY scalp scrub is here to help you get gorgeous strands and give your mane a much-needed reset.

Keep scrolling to learn how to make the perfect detoxifying hair scalp scrub. FYI, you won’t need to worry about it leaving your mane dry, as it has nourishing coconut oil and honey in it. Bonus!

What you’ll need:

¼ cup Himalayan ground pink salt (if you can’t find any, use coarse sea salt)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp of coconut oil (melted)
1 tsp honey
5 drops of peppermint or tea tree oil (you can skip this if you don’t have any)

Step 1.  Combine the all ingredients in a bowl and stir.

Step 2. Take a tablespoon amount of the scrub and apply it to damp hair, making sure to gently massage it into your scalp.

Step 3. Leave the scrub on for 5-10 minutes.

Step 4. Thoroughly rinse out the scrub with warm water.

Step 5. Follow up with your fave shampoo and conditioner. If you’re giving yourself a long pamper session, you can use a hair mask, instead.
