Cast your votes on Meghan’s royal wedding hairstyle!
Will it be her signature waves or an undone updo? Vote now!
Royal wedding excitement is at an all-time high, right now, with less than a week to go until Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot this weekend.
Speculations are reeling about who’s going to be designing Meghan’s dress but personally, come Saturday, we’re going to be waiting with bated breath to catch a glimpse at her wedding day hair!
Meghan’s shown she’s a fan of the soft waves and messy buns, but considering she’s already broken several royal fashion rules by wearing trousers and strappy heels, there’s always the possibility that she’ll go for something totally unexpected! Check out our predictions below, then head over to our Twitter @AllThingsHairUK to cast your vote!
How will Meghan Markle wear her hair for her big day? Our predictions…
1. Hollywood blowdry
Meghan’s no stranger to the glam life, having starred as longstanding lead Rachel Zane on USA Network’s top hit Suits. Part of us is kind of hoping that she’ll go full-on Marilyn with voluminous, polished curls as a nod to her former small-screen roots, bringing a touch of Hollywood to Windsor Castle.
2. Natural soft waves
Meghan’s approach to beauty is always understated and natural, with her often opting for barely-there, loose waves when out in public. If her dress is a showstopper (Ralph and Russo are tipped to be making the dress, FYI), it’s likely she’ll go for a more pared-back look to balance it out, and we think these natural waves would be a great way to add some texture to the look.
3. Updo with face-framing waves
Remember when we saw Meghan wearing a messy bun for one of her first ever royal engagements? We all went crazy! And with a few little tweaks (curled, face-framing strands and the addition of a veil), this ‘lazy girl’ look could easily transform into a dreamy bridal style.
4. Swept-back updo
Swept-back updos are a bridal classic and when paired with tousled texture, they’re perfect for creating a timeless wedding day style that won’t ever date. Pippa Middleton went for a chic, pulled-back chignon for her own nuptials last spring, so maybe Meghan will follow suit with a similar style?
So, there are our predictions! Which hairstyle do you think Meghan will wear for her big day? Don’t forget to cast your vote over on Instagram and to tide you over until the 19th, here’s a look back at some more of Meghan’s best hair looks to date…
Meghan’s signature hairstyles
The messy bun
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited a London radio station for a joint interview, and for the royal engagement, the Duchess-to-be decided to opt for an unexpected (but undeniably chic!) messy bun hairstyle.
As you can see, her chocolate brown locks have been swept back into stylish blogger bun, with some loose tendrils at the front for an extra romantic effect. Pretty amazing, right?
So, now that she has given this lazy girl favourite a royal seal of approval, you shouldn’t feel so bad about rocking it 24-7! Yep, whether you wear it to the gym, a dinner date or work, know this: Meghan did it, and so can you.
Editor’s tip: When styling her mane, we like to think that Meghan uses a dry texturising spray to create her envy-inducing locks. So, if you want to do the same, you need to get your hands on the VO5 Dry Texturising Spray!
This will help leave your hair feeling fresh and clean, while also giving it the bounce and body needed to create royal-approved hairstyles. Now all you have to do is wait for your prince to show up!
Hair up!
Usually sporting her luscious tresses down, it’s a rare treat to see Meghan Markle with her hair up. And we have to say, we’re totally in love with this candid Insta post of the actress, making her casual updo seem rather chic!

Editor’s tip: Before using your hair tongs to create this look, don’t forget to guard your tresses, by spraying it with heat protectant. We recommend using the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray, to help give your hair a smooth and shiny finish!
Casual waves
Looking for a way to rock your mane the day after working a side-swept ‘do? Then casual waves are an ideal option! And Meghan Markle’s wonderful waves are practically made for relaxed occasions, like Sunday brunch or a day out with your friends. Come on, have you ever seen such sultry and carefree locks? Accessorise!
Okay, we know that this one is a bit of a cheat, but if you’re low on time (or having a bit of a bad hair day), then hair accessories or hats are perfect for hiding your unruly tresses. But if millinery isn’t your cup of tea, then why not rock a headscarf or bandana instead?
The beauty of these hair accessories is that there really are so many different ways you can wear them! And if it’s inspiration you’re after, then learn how to wear a headscarf 5 ways according to Instagram. Credit: @meghanmarkle
