How to Dye Your Hair With Tissue Paper

Are you too impatient to wait for your salon appointment and want to dye your hair at home? Then you should try the crepe paper method! This trend blew up during lockdown, but we still love it to this day. It all started with a YouTube hack showing people dyeing their hair rainbow colours using just tissue paper with amazing results.

Are you ready to try this at home? Here are the steps you’ll need to follow to perfect the tissue paper hair dye technique:

Step 1: Choose your colours.

Step 2: Fill a bowl with boiling water and add in your tissue paper.

Step 3: Add some salt to the water and mix it in – this will help to get the colour out of the paper.

Step 4: Squeeze out the tissue paper and throw it away.

Step 5: Place the hair that you want to dye into the mixture and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Step 6: Rinse with cold water and blowdry.

Step 7: And you’re done!

This temporary colour will wash out in a few washes and will come out quicker if you use hot water. This makes it a fun way of trying out colourful hair without doing anything too permanent.
