3-Step Blowdry Hair Tutorial for Men
Step 1: Wash and prep for styling.
A well-styled look starts in the shower. Wash hair with Dove Men + Care Fresh & Clean Fortifying 2-In-1 Shampoo and Conditioner to deeply cleanse hair. The goal is to start fresh and clean!
Step 2: Set your temperature.
Analyze your hair texture: If you have a finer hair texture, you can get away with a medium-to-cool temperature. If it’s thick or coarse, a higher heat setting may be needed to help straighten or nudge hair towards the direction you want it styled. To start, first prep hair with a heat protectant like TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray to guard hair from heat damage, then pick your setting.
Part your hair based on your preference. Using a brush, blowdry hair in the direction you want it to fall, directing the nozzle (safely) on your roots. Hair needs to be trained while it’s wet, and focusing on the roots forces the length of the hair to naturally fall in place as well as create some lift. If your style requires a bit of height, use the blowdryer to create volume by wiggling the blowdrying in an upward motion.
Step 3: Apply some styling product.
After laying down the groundwork with your blowdryer, apply your styling agent. Smooth a small dollop of product onto hands and work it through your hair from root to tip. Some products leave hair with a wet feeling, which requires a little more drying time. If this is the case and you’re short on time, put your blowdryer on its cool setting (usually by pressing a blue button near your trigger finger) to speed up the process. You’re all set!
