A pompadour hairstyle is arguably the most versatile hairstyle out there for guys. A classic hairstyle, you can style when you go out for drinks or even rock it when you are hanging with your bros at the beach. While pompadour hairstyles are awesome for the weekend chill out mood, they’re also one of our favorite styles for guys to wear professionally at work. As a fun short hairstyle trend, the combination of laid-back sides and coifed crown will seriously have you looking fresh and professional at the office. Read on to discover how to rock this classic hairstyle in just four easy steps!
Gently towel-dry your hair. Then use a blowdryer and a small round brush to both style your hair and complete the drying process. Begin by drying a three-inch section along the front of your hairline, slowly move the brush in an upward motion from your roots to your ends while holding the blowdryer in front of your hair. Repeat this step a few times on each section, moving from your hairline to the back of your head until your hair is completely dry.
Add some wax.
After you blow-dry your hair add some hair wax. This will help you to create the signature upward defination of the pompadour hairstyle. Try out some of theBed Head by TIGI Matt Separation Workable Wax(not pictured) which can help you with holding this style in place.
If you want a more of wet-looking pompadour, you’ll want to finish off this look with some gel. Rub a dime-sized amount of gel in-between your fingers, and comb it through your fresh pompadour. Try some of the Dove Men + Care Control Gelfor a strong hold and slightly wet finish. This will ensure your hard work doesn’t go to waste and your strands won’t loosen up for those after-work cocktails.
