Your guide to keeping your wave game strong all year round.

Have you checked out our 2016 winter hair lookbook? We mentioned that transitioning hairstyles from season to season are much easier than transitioning clothing. We mean it! You can totally bring your favorite summer hairstyle into the winter season.

In the summer we coveted beachy waves with a dry finish, in the winter however, dry hair can be the enemy! If you like the matte finish, by all means skip the oil. But, if you are after a style that allows you to retain moisture and has a touch of shine read on to learn more about how you can create winter-friendly beach waves.

Step 1: Wash your hair.

Wash your hair with TRESemmé Moisture Rich Shampoo and follow up by conditioning with the TRESemmé Moisture Rich Conditioner to cleanse, condition and lock in moisture.

Step 2: Apply some gel.

While your hair is damp, apply a few pumps of TRESemmé Make Waves Shaping Gel throughout your hair from the roots to the ends. Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to rake the product throughout your hair.

Step 3: Scrunch your hair.

Scrunch your hair using your fingers to shape and define your waves. Then, blow-dry your hair by using a diffuser.

Step 4: Apply some oil.

For a shiny look, run a Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil throughout your hair. Alternatively, you can set your hair with a shine hairspray, like Bed Head By TIGI Masterpiece Shine Hairsprayto give your beachy waves hold and sheen.

Pro tip: To get the most of your style, opt for re-moisturizing at night with a leave-in conditioner and then braid. In the morning, undo your braids, fluff and add shine, as needed.
