Testing the Viral Top Knot Bun Hair Trend
TikTok continues to be a great source of hair inspiration and expression. From slicked styles to messy-chic, hair enthusiasts from across the globe are partaking in this trend. So I decided that it was my turn!
Trying Out the Top Knot Bun
In 2023, we’ve seen many mixed-matched styles, different textures, and shapes in one head of hair. The following look has been blowing up for its sophisticated and chic appearance. Still, it markets itself as a relatively straightforward style that can be done in only a few minutes! This hairstyle is a sleek top knot bun in the front and messy-voluminous in the back. How does one achieve this? First, you need a hair gel; we recommend TRESemmé Extra Hold Hair Gel for its stronghold, durability, and shine. A hairbrush or comb, and if you want to tame your baby hairs or edges, you can do so with an edge brush, toothbrush, or even your fingers!

Final Thoughts
After trying the TikTok style, only one thought was in my mind; I LOVE IT! It was an effortless style to do, and I accomplished it in about 5 minutes. This versatile style can work for casual days and fancier occasions. It’s a great look to do if you wake up feeling lazy to wash your hair, and it allows you to transform a bad hair day into a style that will make you shine and turn heads!
Testing Viral Clean Girl Look Hair Trend
Don’t have time to spend thirty minutes styling your hair? No problem! Clean beauty took over the hair industry in 2022! Recent trends on Tik Tok have shown that clean beauty and natural hair products paired with effortlessly sleek styles are hot and popular and for a good reason.
Trying Out 3 Clean Girl Looks
What I love most about “Clean Girl” hair is that its concept centers around creating unique and cute hairstyles with accessories that you already have in your home and in a timely matter too. The “Clean Girl look” embraces hair products with natural ingredients and hairstyles that give off a natural, effortless, but put-together look. How, may you ask? Let’s try it!
I will be showcasing a mid-ponytail with a soft fabric headband, a half-up, half-down hairstyle with a claw clip, two braids with a low bun, and pigtails with multiple braids.

Testing the Viral Half-Up Braided Pigtails Hair Trend
Half-up braided pigtails are a viral hair trend we’ve seen making its way from TikTok over to our favorite celebrities and go-to style and beauty influencers. It seems easy since this style only requires two tools (a comb and hair ties). However, will it pass our test? Find out below as we try out half-up bubble pigtails.
Trying Out Braided Pigtails
Half-up braided pigtails are a very popular look that has been dominating the internet lately. It includes two half pigtails that are then braided into three-strand braids. One of my favorite parts about this viral hair trend is that anyone can do it. It doesn’t matter if you have thin, natural, curly, short, or long hair; this style can work for everyone! Half-up pigtails are a style I often do, so after seeing this braided variation all across TikTok and even on the red carpet, I was super excited to try it out. Plus, I really like how minimal products and tools are needed. You need a comb, four hair ties, and hair spray if you want added hold.
I’d recommend using a hair spray like TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Smooth Hold Level 2 Hair Spray because it’ll give you a light hold for the style without making your hair look or feel stiff and crunchy.
Final Thoughts
To answer the question before, Yes, this did pass the test! I thought this was a very easy hairstyle to do. I think it’s perfect for those days in the summer when you want your hair out of your face but don’t want to wear it up entirely. While this style is simple, it’s easy to look to do if you’re practicing your braiding skills. Plus, it adds just a little extra something to a typical half-up pigtail style.
Overall, I’d recommend this style. It’s great for a variety and hair lengths and skill sets. If you’re going for an extra y2k vibe, you can even add butterfly clips to the style.
Testing the Viral Claw Clip Hair Trend
Claw clips relaunched into the hair scene last year, making it the perfect alternative to tight hair ties. Claw clips allow us to wear our hair up and out of our face without worrying about the breakage and damage that can come with some hair ties when used often.
On TikTok and Pinterest, the “It Girl” claw clip hairstyle completely took over and is constantly worn today. The particular style includes girls with an effortless and clean aesthetic, quickly putting their long hair into a claw clip. Sounds easy, right? Well, I’m putting it to the test.
I have long, thick hair, so using a claw clip can be hit or miss depending on its size. However, I am excited to learn if this viral hairstyle works with my hair. Check out my experience below to see if I’d recommend it.
Trying Out the Claw Clip
I really love how wearable this claw clip trend is. It can be worn while you’re running errands and even dressed up for fancier occasions. It’s also super exciting how there is such a wide variety of claw clip sizes, colors, and styles to choose from, so everyone is bound to find something that works for them.
The “It Girl” claw clip hairstyle only requires one tool: Your claw clip! This makes the style very achievable for so many people. Plus, once you get the hang of it, you can create the look in just one or two minutes.
Final Thoughts
With all of this said, I’d recommend the “It Girl” claw clip style! Depending on your hair styling skill level, this may take some practice to completely nail down, but overall I’d say this is a relatively easy style. For me, the hardest part about the style was tying my hair in the beginning because you can’t see what you’re doing. However, I can see the style getting so much easier after doing this a few times. Personally, I think this hairstyle would be so much fun to try with a pearl hair clip for an elevated look.
