Who doesn’t love a hairstyle that needs minimal styling before heading out the door in the morning? Whether you have super short pixie haircut, highly textured natural hair, or short dreadlocks, here are three short curly hairstyles you can try before you head to bed.
Short Curly Hairstyles: 3 Looks To Create Overnight
1. Pillow Soft Curls
Step 1: Add moisture or refresh.
Before styling, moisturize your hair with some leave-in conditioner if dry, or refresh with some Dove Detox & Purify Dry Shampoo if your hair is weighed down with grease.
Step 2: Apply sponge rollers.
Remember those sponge hair rollers your grandma used to use that you laughed at in the past? Well, the joke’s on you now. Grandma knows best, and you should have been taking note of her beauty tips. To create this curly ‘do overnight with comfort and ease, sponge rollers are the key! Roll small sections of your hair with sponge hair rollers and cover your hair with a satin bonnet. In the morning, remove your rollers and separate your curls. Magic, right?
2. Twist and Go
Step 1: Detangle your hair.
Begin with soft and detangled hair. Use a spray bottle filled with water to dampen hair to make it more pliable before detangling.
Step 2: Apply some hair oil.
Add a drop or two of hair oil to seal in moisture and add sheen before styling.
Step 3: Create two-strand twists.
Twist medium-sized sections of hair, using a pea-sized amount of the TRESemmé TRES Two Mega Firm Control Gel on each section for hold. Don’t cover your hair while you sleep. Instead, sleep on a silk pillowcase to allow the hair to dry if it’s damp after styling.
Step 4: Undo your twists.
In the morning, undo your twist, pluck your roots for volume and you’re ready to head out!
3. Curly Dreadlocks
Step 1: Section your locks.
Section your dreadlocks with clips to make the styling process easier.
Step 2: Use Flexi rods.
Wind each dreadlock (or two at a time) onto a Flexi rod in a spiral motion. Bend the end of the Flexi rod over the end of your dreads to secure in place.
Step 3: Undo and go.
Before you’re ready to head out the door, remove the rods and add some shine to your hair by using some of the Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil.
