The headscarf is one of go-to accessories for styling our hair whether it’s a bad hair day or a good one. There are so many different ways to sport the look and so many scarves out there to help bring our outfits to life. Traditionally speaking, there are a number of cultures that already do this. We are inspired by every single culture out there and took some notes on how to recreate some of our favorite ways to wear a headscarf.

Read on for four of our favorite ways to wear a headscarf:

1. The Low Knot

1

Place scarf on head.

To create the low knot style, the first thing you need to do is smooth your hair back and place your scarf on your head.

2

Tie scarf.

Take the ends of the scarf and tie into a knot. Be careful not to make it too tight as it may be uncomfortable.

3

Wrap ends around.

Coil the ends of the scarf into a giant bun. Tuck the ends into the base to hold in place.

4

Final look.

Here’s the final result! A sleek low knot head scarf style!

2. The Crown

1

Place scarf on head.

Place your scarf a few inches behind your hairline. You can use Nexxus Exxtra Hold Sculpting Gel to help shape your baby hairs if you’re into that look.

2

Twist ends.

Twist the ends tightly like a two-strand twist.

3

Wrap ends around.

Take the twisted end of your scarf and wrap it around your head.

4

Final look.

This is how your scarf should look!

3. Turban

1

Place a scarf donut on your head.

This tutorial is a little different since it involves a hack. You want to roll up a small scarf into a donut shape and place at the top of your head. This will help maintain the shape of the turban.

2

Place scarf at the nape.

Put your scarf on your head from the nape of your neck. Bring the ends to the front and criss-cross the ends.

3

Cross scarf ends.

After criss-crossing the ends of the scarf, bring it towards the back of your head.

4

Tie the back.

Cross ends at the back of your head and bring them back to the front.

5

Tuck in place.

Tuck the ends of your scarf in place to fasten.

6

The final look!

Here’s the final look of the turban style.

4. The Top Knot

1

Place scarf at nape.

To begin the top knot style, place your scarf at the nape of your neck and bring forward.

2

Coil ends of scarf.

Coil the ends of the scarf tightly so you can begin to create your top knot.

3

Coil into bun.

Coil the ends around into a bun as you would with any top knot hairstyle.

4

Final top knot style.

Once you have tucked the ends in, this is the final result!
