Oval Face Shapes for Parties

1. Sleek Bob

Oval face shapes and chin-length bobs go hand in hand. To get your bob perfectly sleek start by using a pump of S Factor By TIGI Silky Smooth Serum on damp hair. Then, use a small round brush as you blow-dry your hair. This will help you get the smooth look and curl your hair under at the same time.

2. Twisted Half Updo

Usually twisted half updos keep the twists at the back of the hair. They are totally pretty, but you can make your twisted ‘do a little more unexpected by twisting the top section of your hair. To create this style you’ll need to create straight parts and equal sized sections, so use a comb or some bobby pin for precision. Then, just twist each section backwards and pin your hair in place.

3. Bouncy Blowout

Bounce into your party like you’re fresh from the salon with your at home blowout. We love blowout hairstyles because they work on every face shape. Get the most bounce out of your blowout by changing up the angles when you reach the middle of the shaft. This will help add in more curves and give more body. Bouncy beautiful hair? Yes please.

4. Side Swept Curls

Women with oval face shapes often avoid asymmetrical haircuts. We think that an asymmetrical cut can help add angles to the soft features of an oval face. To fake a more daring cut, try this side swept hairstyle instead. Start off by curling all of your hair. Next, give yourself a very deep side part. On the shorter side of your hair, use the Nexxus New York Salon Care Exxtra Hold Sculpting Gel to slick down your hair near the roots. Before the gel sets, comb your hair down and place it behind your ear. Then, to finish the style swoop all of your hair over the opposite shoulder.

5. Faux Bangs

A fun way to change up your look for a festive occasion is to create fake bangs. This is a super cool way to test out bangs just for one night. You can do this two different ways. First up is to fake bangs with hair extensions. Buy your bang extensions in a color that perfectly matches your hair, if it doesn’t then the jig is up! You can also fake bangs with your own hair. Follow our hair tutorial to learn more about how to create fake bangs with a pretty updo.

6. Face Framing Tendrils

Create width on oval face shapes by adding in curled face framing tendrils to your party updo. All you need to do for this style is to keep a few small pieces of hair out of your updo. Then, using a curling iron or a flat iron, curl the tendrils away from your face. This will add extra dimension to your updo that also looks super modern and pretty.
